Women “Mentorship Program for Women Leaders in Civil Service” - Introductory event Jan 2024), Nile Ritz, Cairo
Preceded by comprehensive preparations, reflecting public-private collaborative efforts to empower women in leadership positions within the civil service, USAID Economic Governance Activity (EGA), the National Council for Women (NCW), and the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD) launched a groundbreaking mentorship program for women leaders in the Egyptian civil service on January 29, 2024.
This mentor-mentee introductory event and lunch brought together, for the first time, 21 dynamic women leaders with their carefully matched mentors. The matching process included roundtable discussions, orientation sessions, psychometric assessments, and a mix of in-person and online activities, to enable the creation of powerful mentor-mentee partnerships. In the vibrant atmosphere of the event, mentees and their mentors start preliminarily discussions about their objectives, challenges, and opportunities, and start scheduling their sessions.

Women “Mentorship Program for Women Leaders in Civil Service” - Onboarding program 2/2 Cohort #1 2023 Dec 23), Cairo
This training builds upon the foundational knowledge gained from the first Women Mentorship Onboarding Program. It focuses on developing and maintaining strong professional relationships with subordinates, peers, and supervisors to achieve organizational goals. This is accomplished through discussing DISC report findings, relating it to the cognitive behavioral model, identifying common thinking mistakes, identifying common psychological responses, managing negative feelings, building self-confidence, credibility, developing basis of convincing and influencing.

Women “Mentorship Program for Women Leaders in Civil Service” - Onboarding program 1/2 Cohort #1 2023 Oct 23), Cairo
After launching women's mentorship program, March 2023, in cooperation with the National Institute of Governance and sustainable Development #NIGSD, and the National Council of Women #NCW to enhance public female leadership in march 2023, followed by the DISC personality assessment and analysis. This training aimed to discuss Johari Window, introduce the DISC tool, developing self-awareness, understanding self and others-behavioral patterns, apply this understanding to improve relations with others through cooperation, adaptation, and better decision making; building people skills, and communication skills.
After the training mentees received their personal reports, they were encouraged to thoroughly review it and reflect on insights gained to prepare for the second onboarding program.

launching the second phase of "Project management" training program - NIGSD, Cairo
USAID's Economic Governance Activity, in partnership with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development (MoPED), the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD), and BRISK, has launched the second phase of its project management training program.
Building on the success of Phase I, which trained 98 MoPED employees in "project management essentials" and "project management professional" programs, Phase II expands its reach to 100 participants from various ministries. This comprehensive training program aims to enhance the skills of government employees by providing in-depth instruction on all aspects of project management, including planning, budgeting, risk assessment, and stakeholder engagement.
To ensure effectiveness, the program incorporates pre- and post-tests, as well as a comprehensive evaluation tool to facilitate ongoing improvements.
Government Excellence Award Equal Opportunity and Women Empowerment, Strategic Planning Trainings groups 2&3, July 2023, Marriott, Cairo
Following the success of the first cycle of the Egypt Government Excellence Award for Equal Opportunity and the Empowerment of Women2022, and the new pilot training implemented in May 2023, the USAID Economic Governance Activity (EGA) continues to support the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development (MoPED) and the National Council for Women (NCW) in year two implementation. EGA, in collaboration with MoPED and NCW, built the capacity of more than 190 civil servants from 30 ministries, 25 universities and 26 governorates.
The two-day workshops provided hands-on experience in planning for gender equality and social inclusion at the workplace through sharing of international best practices, case studies and group exercises. To promote peer to peer learning, speakers from the 2022 award winners were invited to share their success stories with participants toward a government institutional model that embraces and integrates #gender_equality, #women_leadership and #social_inclusion for better utilization of Human Resources in #civil_service conforming with #Egypt_vision_2030, and #UN_SDGs.
Chairwoman of the Egyptian Center for Women’s Rights, joined the workshops as guest speaker leading interactive sessions that triggered debates on gender equality and social inclusion at the workplace.
I participated in the fine tuning of the strategic planning material, I previously developed in the pilot, and delivered two training days for our esteemed target groups on 6th and 11th of July 2023. EGA wishes all participants the best of luck with their application process!

Government Excellence Award on Equal Opportunity and Women Empowerment, Strategic Planning Trainings group1, May 2023, Marriott, Cairo
Within the #USAID Economic Governance Activity #EGA and through a partnership with Ministry of Planning and Economic Development #MOPED, and the National Council for Women #NCW, the first "Strategic Planning" training was implemented for 36 participants from various ministries, governorates, and universities. The training aims to build the capacities of government officials in developing gender-sensitive strategic plans to empower women and people of special needs to assume more leadership roles and build on the cultural change initiated in 2022 toward a government institutional model that embraces and integrates gender equality, women leadership and social inclusion for better utilization of human resources conforming with Egypt vision 2030, and SDGs.
The winners of 2022 award, #Al-Azhar, presented their success story to inspire other participants and launch a second more competitive round of the award. The interaction of civil servants was impressive, and promising, as they managed to successfully conduct SWOT analysis, developed goals, and come-up with very good initiatives and programs that reflected GOE's commitment to lead the change and achieve government excellence.
Aswan MCOSP10, UN Convention Against Corruption, Mövenpick Aswan May 2023
Within the #USAID Economic Governance Activity #EGA and through a partnership with Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport #AASTMT, Aswan University #AU, Administrative Control Authority, Anti-Corruption Academy #ACA, and Aswan Governorate, the COSP 10 model was implemented.
A large pool of students who applied to participate in the model in Feb 2023, from different colleges, were carefully filtered through data analysis and interviews, about 150 students successfully participated in this model representing different collages from both #Arab_Academy_for_Science_Technology_and_Maritime_Transport and #Aswan_University.
Through three months, the model provided elaborated expert workshops about anti-corruption, as well as focused workshops about governance, gender equity, artificial intelligence, and soft skills starting with team building, and focused practical training about public speaking, social intelligence, and negotiation skills, among other workshops. Speakers and presenters were carefully selected and provided with condensed coaching, rehearsals, and coaching to reach their best performance. The students perfectly simulated the proceedings of COSP 10, and skillfully presented speeches of regions and countries, they also conducted an amazing side event about “The role of youth in fighting corruption through digital transformation” by presenting best practices from some countries, answering questions, and addressing interventions from attendees.
As EGA’s capacity building lead, I participated in the filtering process, planned, budgeted, and supported the design, development, and implementation of all soft skills modules, provided individual coaching to all speakers, reviewed, and updated all speeches, and supported the EGA team in the implementation of the whole model. The model was honored by the participation of Aswan governor, senior officials from ACA, president of AATMT Academy, senior representative from Aswan University, USAID senior representatives, Aswan senior representative, EGA management and relevant staff. Let’s thank and celebrate, the 150 stars who created this wonderful experiment and twinkling memory.
EGA, Aswan COSP10 Model - Emotional Intelligence, April 23

Throughout EGA’s preparations to implement Conference of State Parties Model #MCOSP, to mimic UN Anti-corruption Conference #COSP10, is conducting a series of soft skills training.
I designed, developed, and implemented the “Emotional Intelligence” module as a key important soft skills to build students’ social skills and capacities. I successfully trained about 55 students from both AASTMT, Aswan University the training was informative, interactive, and fun with opportunities to practice self-reflection, solve simple case studies and engage in role-playing to enrich the training journey. It was an excellent experience, and the student feedback was great, Thanks to our esteemed partners and EGA team.
Green Governance: The Role of Youth in Enhancing Climate Action, Aswan – Egypt, Aug 2023
USAID Economic Governance Activity (EGA) celebrated International Youth Day in Aswan with the event "Green Governance: The Role of Youth in Enhancing Climate Action." The event, attended by the Governor of Aswan, USAID officials, academics, and university students, focused on pressing issues like governance, climate change, gender, and youth empowerment. Panel discussions explored the role of startups, green skills, and gender-sensitive policies. Experts from USAID, Plug and Play Africa, PepsiCo, and Cubit Ventures shared insights and recommendations.

EGA, Aswan COSP10 Model - Team Building , March 2023
Throughout #USAID Economic Governance Activity #EGA preparations to implement the “Conference of State Parties Model” to mimic the United Nations Anti-corruption Conference #COSP10, and in collaboration with “Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport” #AASTMT, Aswan University #AU, Administrative Control Authority #ACA, and Aswan Governorate.
I designed, developed, and implemented two “Team Building” events as a starting activity within a series of soft skills training programs to build students’ soft skills and social capacities.
I implemented the Team Building events in March 2023 for about 150 students from AU and AASTMT from different colleges. Each event involved 8 teams playing physical and mental games in an interactive and funny atmosphere. Each event was concluded with a self-reflection discussion about our new perception of teamwork and what we learned about each other.
Students' feedback was excellent thanks to our partners and EGA supporting team.
COP 27 Model, Economic Governance Activity, Oct. 2022
EGA, USAID project, implemented the COP 27 model, through a partnership with Cairo University, MOE, the NIGSD, and the NACA. The model was implemented by 153 Cairo University students and was honored by the Minister of Environment, president of Cairo University, Executive Director of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD), USAID Mission Director, and senior representatives.
Through three months, the model provided information sessions about climate action, entrepreneurship, governance, gender equity, and soft skills (team building, public speaking, social intelligence, and inter-culture communication), I planned, budgeted, and supported the design, development, and implementation of all soft skills training, provided individual coaching to all speakers, reviewed, and updated main speeches, and facilitated the model implementation with EGA team.
The students simulated COP 27 and COY 17 proceedings to address climate-related issues. The simulation also included an exhibition of artworks, and 3d mimics to showcase startup ideas and innovative solutions to address climate change, in which I participated with a painting.

In August 2022, I successfully trained about 70 students from different colleges in two groups, the training was informative, interactive, and fun with opportunities to practice self-reflection, solve simple case studies and engage in role-playing to enrich the training journey, it was an excellent experience, and students' feedback was great.
EGA, COP27 Model - Team Building Event
#USAID Economic Governance Activity #EGA in collaboration with Cairo University #CU, #MoE, #EACA, and the #NIGSD, throughout preparations to implement the Youth Climate Change Model #MCOP, to mimic the United Nations Climate Change Conference #COP27, conducted a series of soft skills training. For the team building event, I developed the learning objectives, recruited Dr. Shehab Mohamed, the distinguished trainer, and participated in the design and implementation. The event was implemented in July 2022, in two sessions with about 80 participants each, participants practiced teamwork by engaging in 10 station games, and competed at the end, as detectives, to solve a mystery of a crime. The event successfully merged learning and physical and mental activities with entertainment. students were thrilled.
Government Excellence Award on Equal Opportunity and Women Empowerment, Trainings May 2022, Sonesta, Cairo.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and the National Council for Women, and within Economic Governance Activity project, USAID, successfully trained 200 government officials on the newly launched Egypt Government Excellence Award on Equal Opportunity and The Empowerment of Women, aiming to initiate a cultural change toward an institutional model that integrates gender equality, women leadership and social inclusion to maximize HR utilization, conforming with Egypt vision 2030, and SDGs. The interaction of civil servants representing Ministries, Governorates, and Universities from all over Egypt was impressive, and promising, and reflected GOE's commitment to lead change and achieve excellence.
Management Skills program, EPSP-USAID Project, Aswan 27 Feb. 2017
Within Effective Planning and Services Project (EPSP), I designed, developed, and implemented the "Management Skills" program for 14 participants from Aswan citizen's service centers, and the GIS center from 27 Feb. to 2 Mar. 2017, the training included presentations, trainer and trainee guides, videos, exercises, games, pre and post-tests, and evaluation. Topics covered are an introduction to management, management functions, decision-making tools, emotional intelligence, selected soft skills, and establishing a work environment that fights all forms of discrimination and violence against women.

Participated in designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating this workshop with "Gender and Social Inclusion Advisor", and team within Economic Governance Activity project, USAID, through partnering with the National Council of Women NCW, targeting representatives from five Ministries (Planning and Economic Development, Sports and Youth, Finance, Manpower Planning, Local Development, and Sports and Youth. Aiming to start a fruitful dialogue and reach a more comprehensive vision of EOUs to fight all forms of discrimination, identify scope and needs, and build their capacities to enhance and activate their role within Egypt's governance reform efforts.

This module focused on management evolution and management functions, the contrast between common practices and best practices, and the outcomes of each.

Government Excellence Award on Equal Opportunity and Women Empowerment Workshop, Intercontinental city star June 2022, Cairo.
USAID Economic Governance Activity #EGA in collaboration with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and the National Council for Women implemented an orientation workshop on “Government Award on Equal Opportunity and Women’s Empowerment” for senior government officials representing central Ministries, Governorates, and government Universities. The workshop, attended by 72 senior government representatives, provided quick orientation on the Award and highlighted how seniors can support their entities to submit their files.
The workshop was honored by the President of the NCW, Permanent Deputy of MoPED, USAID/Egypt Senior Governance Advisor, and EGA Senior Management.
Interaction during the Q&A session reflected #GOE commitment to an institutional model that integrates #genderequality, #womenleadership, and #socialinclusion towards better utilization of human capital, and provision of better services conforming with Egypt's vision 2030, and SDGs
Digitization and Digital Transformation
The launch of “KMT”, the first AI government Chatbot within the civil service in Egypt, CAOA at NAC, Feb 24
The USAID Economic Governance Activity (EGA), in collaboration with the Central Agency for Organization and Administration (CAOA), hosted a high-level event to launch the "KMT" initiative. The event was attended by distinguished guests including U.S. Ambassador to Egypt, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, USAID Mission Director, and National Council for Women President. Additionally, numerous ministers, heads of missions, ambassadors, and over 200 senior government officials were present at the launch, which took place at the CAOA headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
“KMT” marks a major milestone in the collaboration between the USAID Economic Governance Activity and CAOA, and another accomplishment along the GoE's journey towards digitalization and improved innovation in public service delivery. “KMT” is the first of its kind G2G service dedicated to addressing any and all questions pertaining to Egypt's Civil Service Law and its Executive Regulations. “KMT” promotes transparency and access to information by providing instant and timely responses around the clock to questions. In its next iteration, “KMT” will be available to the Egyptian public at large.

Vodafone's AI Assistive Tools Hackathon "solutions for a more inclusive workplace for Persons With Disabilities", June 24, Cairo.
Over three days, USAID Economic Governance Activity Information Technology Industry Development Agency, ITIDA Vodafone Egypt @Ataa Charity Fund for Persons With Disabilities Plug and Play Tech Center Plug and Play Africa.
The hackathon is the first of its kind in the private sector, designed to motivate innovators to design solutions for a more inclusive workplace for Persons With Disabilities.
Innovation meets inspiration at Vodafone's AI Assistive Tools Hackathon, were 20 teams, with participants from Cairo and 6 other governorates, have been neck and neck in a battle of brains to design the best AI-backed solutions and innovations to support PWDs in the workplace, and create a more inclusive environment for all. The hackathon included hours of technical workshops, mentorship sessions, and solution design, making for a jam-packed weekend filled with incredible insights and opportunities.
The three winners received grants from Vodaphone and Ministry of Social Solidarity (MoSS), technological tools, and one month online incubation by Plug and Play.

Life Skills for Employment Training, Group 1, Assiut April 2019 (PPI, HSBC, ABWA)
Targeting youth, within "Women empowerment for employment" project implemented by Positive Planet International, Assiut Business Women Association, and HSBC Bank, I designed, developed, and implemented this program as a first step to equip participants with various life skills (communication, teamwork, time management, stress management, problem-solving, and conflict resolution); and employment skills (personality and work assessments, resume preparation, job search techniques, and successful interviews). Life Skills for Employment, Group 4, New Assiut Aug 2019 (PPI, HSBC, ABWA)
Within Women employ-ability booster, implemented by Positive Planet International, Assiut Business Women Association (ABWA), and funded by HSBC bank. I supervised the implementation of this program with selected ABWA trainers who graduated from my ToT program in April 2019. The program targeted about 30 female participants, and covered various life skills (effective communication, time management, teamwork, stress management), as well as employment skills like job searching techniques, writing CV and cover letter, interview skills, and work ethics, all participants practically applied these skills, and at the training finale, submitted their updated CV.
Thinking Skills, Watania hotel, Assiut - June 2013
Within the USAID-funded "Water and Waste Water Sector Support" project, targeting young professionals from eleven subsidiaries with various specialties, the program presented various levels of thinking skills and discussed examples of those skills, the focus was on high-level skills like critical and creative thinking and how to apply these skills at work.

It covered basic skills (communication, working within a team, time management, stress management, and conflict resolution); employment skills (assessments, resume preparation, and successful interviews). It included individual professional resume development, simulated job interview, and various games and activities.

Targeting youth, within "Education for employment and entrepreneurship" project implemented by Positive Planet International, Association of Upper Egypt, and funded by HSBC bank. After receiving specialized employ-ability training (job searching techniques, writing CV and cover letter, interview, ... etc.), all participants undergo a simulated job interview, at the last day of the training in which participants submit their updated CVs; undergo a panel interview for a selected position; and receive a constructive feedback to overcome various forms of short comings.
ATTITUDE CHANGE AND AWARENESS RAISING
COP 27 Model, Economic Governance Activity, Oct. 2022
EGA, a USAID- project implemented the COP 27 model through a partnership with Cairo University (CU), the Ministry of Environment, the National Institute of Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD), and the National Anti-Corruption Academy (NACA), 153 students participated in the model and simulated COP 27, and COY 17 to address climate-related issues, and some of them participated in an artwork exhibition, with a painting, and 3d mimics to showcase startup ideas and innovative solutions to address climate change.
I participated in the filtering process, planned, and supported the design, development, and implementation of all soft skills modules, provided individual coaching to all speakers, supported the implementation of all climate change information sessions, and participated in the exhibition with one painting.
The model was honored by the Minister of Environment, president of CU, Executive Director of NIGSD, USAID Mission Director, and senior representatives.
Building awareness towards violence against women, Haggana (Care, UN Women) 2017
Designed, developed and implemented this program to build a well-informed cadre of Haggana NGOs to mobilize local communities (identify agents of change, target groups, tailor messages, and mechanisms). The training covered forms of violence and sexual harassment, causes, and results, statistics to understand the context, games, exercises, and tests to encourage participation.
Simulation of the job fair, Assiut Oct 2019
Supervised the implementation of a simulated job fair to further prepare girls who graduated from the "Life skills for employment" program for the job fair scheduled early Nov 2019. About 60 girls attended this simulation and each conducted an average of 3 interviews.
All positive and negative practices were captured by the team of trainers lead by myself and documented. I conducted an orientation session highlighting main findings, providing feedback on preparing CVs and successfully passing interviews, and announcing the opening of a job counseling office at "Assiut Business Women Association" ABWA that provides different free career exploring and development services.

To minimize hygiene mal-practices, and to sustain the newly established Wastewater Treatment Plants, the CDCB project and relevant CDAs selected community leaders from all sectors, prepared action plans, and developed hygiene promotion tools. Later trainers implemented the plans and were monitored by the project. Similar trainings were implemented in Gharbiya and Beheira.

Building political awareness of youth and activating their role in the community, REACT 2006-2008
REACT focused from day one on activating the role of youth in community development, Working with four partner NGOs, REACT implemented tens of events in the nine districts of Minia, such as nine athletic and cultural competitions for about 1000 youths, public awareness campaigns for 30 teachers and 8000 students about basic political education, and fifty public awareness workshops with LPC, and LEC officials for more than 3000 participants.

Governorate-wide school competition about local popular councils, Minia Feb. - Mar. 2008
REACT and MOE - Minia directorate declared a competition between 27 schools from 9 districts. Each school nominated 3 teams each of 5 students (considering gender). Teachers received the necessary training, the competition was based on "The young politician book" and small progressive materials, judges were LPC trainers. A winning team was selected per school, district, and sector. Finalists met at governorate LPC hall, and judges were top MLPCs and governor deputy.

Within Integrated Water Solution Support Technical Assistance (IWSSTA), a USAID funded project, I designed, developed, and implemented an online interactive training for W&WW companies (Minia, Assiut, Sohag, Qena, and Luxor) on “Preparing Job Description Cards”, the training included a presentation, discussions, exercises, tests, and final evaluation, objectives included understanding organization basics and principles, understanding components of organizational guide, Identifying job description card components, steps to prepare them, and agreeing on an action plan, 22 staff participated, with an average improvement of about 30% between pre and post-tests, and an average evaluation of 85%.

Targeting different sectors within Sinai Water and Wastewater Company, WWSS conducted this orientation to introduce this performance improvement technique to facilitate problem-solving, and continuous improvement, through forming small specialized groups to select, prioritize, and work on top problems per sector. This training maximizes the results of the "Young Professionals’ Development Program" PDP program, by majorly relying on qualified program graduates.

Three tailored TOT programs were designed and implemented for selected talents from eleven companies, in areas "Energy conservation", "Chemical optimization", and "Leak detection" each program was implemented in three phases (Technical; Training skills; Planning implementation). I was responsible for administering the three phases, and delivering the second phase "Training skills" The TOT program graduated 200 trainers, I implemented the second and third phases, supervised and supported implementation.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Focusing on women's participation in community development, REACT 2006-2008
Working with four partner NGOs, REACT managed to cover the nine districts of Minia with awareness building and long-term development activities. Conducted tens of campaigns, and workshops about participation for more than 3000 women, followed by issuance of IDs and election cards for them. All activities communicated the active role of women in community development, and the role of LPCs, the result is more women nominees for LPC elections, and tens of community driven initiatives addressing local needs.
Employment Job Fair, PPI, Assiut, November 2019
At the end of the four training programs on "Life Skills for Employment", with more than 100 participants, and after implementing the job fair simulation, I supervised the grand job fair implemented by PPI, with more than 30 participating companies, The fair was open to all Assiut youth, and witnessed hundreds of participants, all of them received a booklet of all participating companies, and job vacancies, participants also received guidance and support to match their qualifications and experience to available jobs, then they submitted their CVs and conducted light interviews, more than 60 youths graduated from PPI program secured jobs and expressed their thanks and gratefulness to all trainers.
Networking for advocacy and lobbying at Swiss Inn Sokhna, CARE Dec. 2016
Within CARE's "Safe cities Without Violence directed to women and girls" project, I implemented a "Networking for advocacy and lobbying" training program for three umbrella NGOs, Mansheyet Naser, Imbaba, and Hagana areas in greater Cairo. The training included the preparation of lesson plans, presentations, videos, and included exercises, group discussions, games, and tests. Topics covered advocacy and lobbying definitions, identifying allies and opponents, strategies to deal with them, conducting a SWOT analysis for each NGO, working out to overcome weaknesses and maximize strengths, working out to handle threats, and maximize use of opportunities, developing an action plan.

As a result of coordination with Kafr El-sheikh Water and Wastewater Company, Local units, CDAs, community, HCWW, NOPWASD, designers, contractors, supervisors, along with community mobilization, baseline studies, land acquisition, developing strategies, establishing disclosure and complaint systems, building the capacities of a subsidiary, and awareness of community, defining roles and responsibilities. After all this the dream of Ghabat 6 residents is manifesting, an operating wastewater system improving their quality of life.

Installing drinking water connections to 30+10 needy families of Salagos village and its satellites, May 2014
Birr wa Ihsan "Charity" CDA, installed 30 drinking water connections for the poorest families of Salagos village. The CDA was faced with larger demand and accordingly called for money contributions from Philanthropists, as well as minor contributions from other community members, these contributions enabled the CDA to serve extra 10 needy families. This project generated 160 workdays for the youth of the community at a reasonable income.
Intel Learn Program (Orascom Training and Technology) 2006
Orascom Training and Technology (OTT) implemented this project in cooperation with MoCIT and Intel corporation. The project targets children between 8 and 16 years and aims to achieve three objectives (IT literacy, Learning through teams, creative thinking) through training teachers to train children in schools and technological clubs, resulting in more responsible, cooperative youth with thinking abilities, and awareness of community problems.
Fixing desks, and installing white boards in 37 schools of Atf Haider mother village, Edwa, May 2014
Atf Haidwe CDA Provided basic carpentry training, followed by local work opportunities for both genders to serve their own community by repairing 579 school desks, and replacing black boards with white 285 boards, within the four Atf Haider villages, this was followed by a workshop for supervisors to sustaining the achieved improved educational conditions. This project created about 480 workdays for 44 youths (38 male, 6 female) with reasonable income.
